9 week old won't sleep in pram?

My 9 week old won't sleep in the pram. To be fair, I've only tried twice but both times as she got tired she got gradually more fussy till she was screaming and so I'm reluctant to put her through that again without some kind of strategy.

Will practice help? She goes down for her first nap easiest so I figure I need to get striaght out of the house in the morning and try it when she's on her first wake window/getting tired. Are there any other strategies I can try? She unfortunately won't take a dummy. She normally sucks my little finger for comfort as she's going to sleep but I obviously can't do that as were going along! Everyone else's baby just seeps to sleep naturally with the motion?

My DS never napped in his buggy and it made things so difficult. I would love to help my baby get used to sleeping in her pram but I don't want to traumatise her/me in the process - I have a low tolerance for letting her cry and find it incredibly stressful, especially when out in public. I can take the baby carrier for back up but its cold here and its not easy to transfer when dealing with bulky coats etc.

I'm desperate to make this work - please please give me your tips and advice. (Or console me with stories of how your baby never slept in thier pram either...)

Get a good baby carrier, one that puts her in M (legs) and C (back) position. Follow TICKS guide on doing it safely and a star wrap which makes transitions very smooth.

(neither of mine went in the pram until they were older and I got rid of the basinet bit)

I have one and we use it a lot - currently all her afternoon naps including me going on the school run on the bus. But I do still find it hard to manage with a big coat on over the top. And I would dress her warmer for the pram than I would for the baby carrier (she goes inside my cardigan and coat with me.)

This is reassuring. And did they learn to sleep in it as older babies/toddlers?

My DS wouldn't sleep in the bassinet of the pram. He hated being in it and would just scream. I changed the bassinet to the pram attachment and put it on a very slight incline but still lying mostly flat. He was so much better in that. He had pretty terrible reflux so being on his back was never ideal and the incline of the pram attachment seemed to help.

Get a sling coat, they're designed to go round it

Both dropped naps at 18 months. Then took until 4 to sleep through the night.

Thanks everyone, perhaps its not just me, I guess it's just a phase and hopefully things will get easier when she can go in the pushchair attachment.

Mine only started tolerating the pram at around 3.5 months and after I swapped the carrycot to the seat unit. He still didn’t really nap in it until 5 months. Before then all his naps were in contact.
