One nap transition

So our almost 15 month old girl is on one nap now (for almost two weeks now) and we made the transition as she was showing signs she was ready (e.g. naps were becoming shorter, resisting naps etc). We were doing ok and she was having early lunch at 11 and down by 11.45 and was doing 2 hours sometimes a bit more. The past few days she has only done maximum one hour and is waking screaming and will not go back to sleep. Clearly overtired. Morning wake time we get her from her cot at 7am but she can wake much earlier than this (even as early as 5.30am) but is happy in her cot until 7. I have tried a cat nap later in the afternoon but it doesn't work and she won't go down for it. Any ideas? I don't really want to go back to trying two naps.

I'm in the same boat. If she wakes at 5:30, you'll have to put her down earlier. A 6-6.5 hour awake window is too long. On these days I give my daughter a yoghurt and good snack before her nap at 10:30, then let her sleep until 12ish, then I force a short nap in the sling or car around 3ish. It's rubbish

We did the same as PP - and early nap (11 ish), followed by lunch and as exciting an afternoon as possible to keep her going. Then an early bedtime if she needed it.

Tough for a month or so, but she adjusted.

We had the same and went back to 2 naps but the morning one is literally 10 mins at around 9/9.30, then I wake her up. Seems to be enough to get her through to lunch nap without getting overtired but doesn't disrupt the long lunch nap or night time. She's 17 months now and we're still following that routine. She does a 2 hour lunch nap and sleeps 7.15 - 6.30 pretty reliably, occasionally stirs early morning. They're all different obviously but could be worth a go - she does sound overtired.

Thanks for the replies. I tried going back to two naps but she won't settle
For the morning one so it didn't work so therefore it has to be one nap but no luck. She woke at 6.15am today and got from her cot at 7am. A happy morning, early lunch at 11am and down and asleep by 11.45 (5.5 hour wake window) and she has woken after 25 minutes completely screaming. I have tried resettling with the Ferber method as that's what we sleep trained her with (and cuddling her doesn't work either) but no luck so she has woken at 12.12pm!!! I am going to have to attempt a short cat nap later but I know what she is like and I don't think it will work. Any other suggestions welcomed.

We do an earlier long nap 10.30 to 12.30. DS is 18 months. He can't manage much longer before the nap but will go 12.30 to bedtime at 7 awake.
