SO TIRED
LO has always been an ok sleeper
but my god the last week or two have been something else
2 hour battles to get to bed
waking more than when she was tiny
split nights
early rising
hysterics in the night
currently has 2 naps, has always had short naps (usually has 45 mins ish)
sometimes will randomly have 1.5 hours
have tried making sure she doesn’t sleep later than 3, then 2. Tried earlier and later bed time. Tried to see if she will just have one big nap but wakes up after 30 mins..
I just don’t know what to do?!
how do you transition to 1 nap? She’s so unpredictable with how long she will sleep etc
just after some advice or if it’s a ride it out sort of thing
thank you

If it's only been two weeks, has something happened? Could she be I'll or has there been a change on the day?

@PritiPatelsMaker she had a cold before Christmas but seems ok now. Not sure if it’s teeth or what.. it’s bloody tiring though😂

It won't help you as you're trying to get her to sleep but it sounds like she needs more sleep and is over tired.

DS transitioned to one nap around then but he needed a good one - 2 hours, sometimes 2.5.

Now at 18m he's able to cope on less.

She's probably hit a regression and will come out of it again within a few weeks. Stick to your routines like clockwork and see what the next week or two bring.

My DD dropped to one nap about then. I think after two or three weeks of all over the place naps and sleep we just decided to go for one nap and ride it out, which meant sometimes having to keep her awake till a sensible bed time even after quite a short nap. My experience is that when overtired DD would get very upset at bedtime and needed more help to go to sleep, but once asleep she slept quite well (not necessarily perfectly though). However when under tired because of a late nap or to much napping, bedtime would take ages and frequent night wakes and split nights would happen. When sleep was really bad it usually coincided with needing to drop a nap. I also found that these phases just seemed to happen and usually just as I was about to have a breakdown and was looking everywhere for help (like posting on Mumsnet), then it would start to get better. So you might just need to hang in there!

Just to add, once we were in a solid one nap routine, that nap tended to be 1.5- 2 hours but really needed a min of 1 hour and we would slightly adjust bedtime based on time and length of nap.
