Bronchiolitis and Co-sleeping - when will it get back to normal?

Hiya,
My 11 month old has got bronchiolitis. It's a moderate one and she's well enough to be looked after at home. I am a medical professional and can assess her etc and have a pulse oximetry device at home (owlet monitor). For 6 nights now she's been going to bed between 6-7pm and then wakes up devastated and hysterical about an hour later and I've been sleeping in her room on double mattress and I bring her into bed with me as that's only way she'll settle. I'm absolutely fine with Co-sleeping whilst she is ill but today she wouldn't even nap in her cot (she loves napping in her cot normally) and would only sleep in the double bed with me lying next to her. I'm dooming out that she'll never go in her cot again. Am I worrying over nothing? Any tips please?

Once she's better, you can slowly transition her back to the cot. Don't stress- I've had a kid who has had RSV and was hospitalised and every time they get sick, they are back in my bed. It all evens out in the end.

Ah the poor little thing. Bronchiolitis is horrible. I remember it ruining our first Christmas with DD. No honestly it will be fine, like a pp said you will transition back to normal. And actually you will probably get a few good nights sleep as once she is recovering she will be exhausted from it all. Just give her whatever comfort she needs and it will work itself out

Yeah, this is one of those that can take ages to get over. DS ended up in hospital and the HV who followed up when we were home was keen to let me know that it could take months to get back to normal. I can't remember how long it took (ds is 13 now) but it wasn't quick.

My DS had bronchiolitis last month. He slept so much better if we had him semi reclining in his pushchair rather than flat on his back. It wasn't ideal but the other option was for one of us to hold him all night. Could you try that?
