DH and I are both 'new' parents (lost our first baby last year at 33 weeks), so our rainbow is the first baby to come home with us.
She is now 15 weeks but does not sleep through the night yet.
I wasn't concerned until the health visitor asked about her sleep the other day. When I explained that DD wakes during the night she said 'oh, well I guess that can be normal for some babies'. She didn't leave me feeling very reassured.
DD is bottle fed. She kind of set her own routine that we just stuck with. She will have a bottle around 6.30/7pm and then fall asleep almost immediately after, meaning she's asleep by 7.30pm at the latest. She'll usually wake around 10pm for another feed, and then wake around 3/4am again, before waking again between 7am and 8am when we just get up with her. She is quite good at going back to sleep when she's fed, but occasionally will be awake for up to an hour and half at the 3/4am feed.
Are we putting her to bed too early? I felt quite happy with our little routine, but now I'm doubting myself. Due to the loss of our son I'm very anxious about losing our daughter, so I find her waking during the night reassuring for myself, though I know that can't continue forever.
Any advice will be really useful! Thank you 🙂
