I have no excuse... really must go to bed, but staying here less effort than getting my ass to bed tbh

Am notcturnal

Everyone knows witches come out at night

Twinklemegan · 31/01/2008 00:28

Me too ggirl. I usually doze off on the settee at around 9.30pm. Then I wake up when DH gets up to make a drink and I'm wide awake until after midnight. It's a killer for getting up early in the morning on work days.

gigglewitch · 31/01/2008 00:28

umm, mean NOCTURNAL
tis too late to type properly

Hobnobfanatic · 31/01/2008 00:29

Thanks, Twinklemegan - I'm about to go in...
I'm armed with various weapons, including a rolling pin. I really do think I'm in some kind of Tom and Jerry cartoon...
Wish me luck...

expatinscotland · 31/01/2008 00:29

they're so tasty, kerry

all ready for my breakfast.

dd2 is still sleeping in as she recovers from chickenpox, so i need something quick and nourishing whilst i cope with dd1, as DH will need to get ready for work.

also have some vanilla slice and bake cookie dough in the fridge to make up tomorrow.

Albert · 31/01/2008 00:29

Aww, don't club it will you? I got quite expert at catching mice and shrews inside empty kitchen paper rolls. It's unnerving carrying them outside though when you can feel them scurrying around against your hands.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2008 00:36

get a cat, twinkle.

our resident female tuxedo cat handles all our mouse/shrew problems.

Ha ha Expat, it was the cat that created the problems! Great at catching them, not so good at killing them.

Twinklemegan · 31/01/2008 00:40

KerryMum - in those circumstances I'd think differently I reckon. But it wasn't the mice/shrew's fault they ended up in my house, so I didn't have the heart to despatch them. Softie, that's me.

expatinscotland · 31/01/2008 00:40

oh, Pepsi is a great huntress.

we never knew till we moved here!

she was an indoors cat all the time we'd had her because we'd always lived in second floor flats with no garden space.

she found her element here, she even brings us pressies!

she's curled up here just now, cleaning her pretty wee paws.

arfishy · 31/01/2008 01:13

I'm in Oz, it's just after midday.

On the subject of cats, we have a rescued pigeon in our cellar, recuperating before we release him. Last night we were down there letting him stretch his wings in the breeze coming from the cellar door and we looked up saw all 4 cats sitting there mesmerised. 3 ran away terrified [useless emoticon] but our hunter (who sadistically drowns lizards in her water bowl) couldn't believe her luck. We shooed her off but she's probably spent the morning finding devious ways to get into the cellar.

serenity · 31/01/2008 01:17

I've just got home from work, and had to log on to post an IKEA related thing for Aitch.

I'm now going to bed, night

madamez · 31/01/2008 01:26

I am up because of FARKING MICE too (see various pathetic screaming wailing mouse threads). Actually am also up because of chatline shift till 12.30 which went on because I had a lucrative if mental customer and now I can't face going upstairs in case there's a FARKING MOUSE up there.

1dilemma · 31/01/2008 01:38

working!

It's not working I've forgotten what I'm supposed to be doing

dcs all up !
off to bed

night

nappyaddict · 31/01/2008 01:51

because i didn't get home from work until midnight so i came on here to wind down and i'm still here!

Islamum · 31/01/2008 02:22

I'm feeding dd, 12wks old, I will be back again in 2 hours!

Islamum · 31/01/2008 02:23

she just chucked up all over me and fell asleep, can i swop her for the mouse?

MegSophandEmma · 31/01/2008 04:09

Am up because of this stupid gale Am scared me patio is gonna come in.

meebles · 31/01/2008 04:26

I'm still up because my DD won't go to sleep! It's an endless cycle of failing to feed because of windiness, screaming at being detatched from the boob to be winded(hard when you're screaming) and settling back to the boob happily till the next bout of wind. I'd just like to say...arghhhh!

It's a bit windy here too now you come to mention it, but no gale....hope your patio stays where it should do MS&E!

EXPAT!!!! By expatinscotland on Thu 31-Jan-08 00:25:05
just about to go to bed.

had to get some stuff done - bake flapjacks, fold clothes, do dishes, get the coffeemaker ready for the morning.

AND...

also have some vanilla slice and bake cookie dough in the fridge to make up tomorrow.

I had no idea that you're such a domestic goddess!

(Though I did manage to shove flour and water in the breadmaker so I can make the boys' sandwiches with lovely fresh bread)
