Feeding every 2hours

My little one is 16 weeks old and still feeding (BF) every 2hrs night and day. She feeds for 5minutes (10 if I’m lucky) only but is putting on weight fine.

During the night every time she wakes, it usually starts off every 2hours but by 4/5am can be every hour or less. I’ve started giving her a bottle before bed to help her take some more in which helped the first couple nights but now not so much.

it’s not the sleep regression either as she’s done this for the last 6 weeks or more.

how do I know if she’s actually hungry or just doing it for comfort/to get back to sleep? I need some sleep myself 😞

Teething?

All children are different but with DS at this age He would feed once or twice but maybe wake more for a comfort suck. I think eventually you can tell. Does she feed to sleep? It maybe that she just expects you to be there when she stirs and is surprised you’re not. I would try a muslin that smells as you as a comforter (stuff it in your bra for an hour or so before bed).

My DD was like this, always a 5/10 minute feeder and was putting weight on perfectly. Fed every couple of hours until she got a bit older but a lot of nights until she hit 12 months she was still waking to feed quite a lot. Then 12 months came and she stopped feeding completely at night and started sleeping through. Waking occasionally for water.
Now she's 15 months and occasionally wakes if she's cold/wants a cuddle/teething but mainly sleeps through.
It is completely normal, they are so small still so a lot of their night feeds will be a mixture of food and comfort.
I never worried about her wakes tbh, if that's what she needed then I just went with it. It was exhausting at times but it is very normal

Ds did that until he was around 1 year unfortunately. Started off every 2-3 hrs max, then as the night went on every hour. He was actually feeding and hungry though. Would feed every 2hrs daytime also
