Should I be stopping nap?

My DD is 2 and 4 months, she still naps, she takes a while to settle go to sleep but will sleep 1pm until 3pm (I often have to wake her).
She has recently started nursery for morning sessions and can tell she is tired after lunch.

However, she used to go to bed easily between 7-7:30pm. The last few weeks she seems really awake and won’t sleep until about 8:30pm or later. We have the same bedtime routine each night and wind down with book and then quiet music but cant get her to sleep easily. She always has to be woken at 7am for siblings school run or nursery.
Should I be stopping nap or only letting her sleep for an hour?

Maybe try and see for a hour?? Just for perspective my lo is 19 months. She naps 1230pm/1245pm up by 245pm. Goes bed at 8pm but could manage 830pm easily.

Thats good to know, thank you. Its really hard to judge if she needs the nap or how long as she sleeps so solidly but maybe its time to reduce the time shes asleep!

Mine went through this at basically the same age - we cut the nap down to an hour, which worked for maybe a month, and then we had to cut it altogether 😢 and bang went my 2 hours of free time in the middle of the day!

3pm is too late for her to then get tired again before bedtime; I would try 12-1 for a nap and definitely have her up before 2, but also prepare yourself this might be it for naps 😬

My DD is same and recently started nursery (mornings) too. I let her nap when she comes home but I wake her after an hour/1hr 20 max then she’ll go bed easily at 7:30.

Hello, just to add a slightly different perspective (I also have a 27mo and am a sleep anthropologist), if she is sleeping 1-3pm happily, seems tired after lunch and is just chatting in bed etc until 8.30pm before sleeping a good 11h, I would leave it a few weeks before changing anything. If you want to cut the nap, go to 90 mins first!
