Rolling over and getting cross

My baby has started rolling over in his cot, which I was originally excited about as it often means they can get into a comfy position and sleep better, but that doesn't seem to apply here! He's been rolling a while but never at night until now, and when he does he just gets cross about it 🤦‍♀️ Last night he was doing it every 1.5 hours and once did it as soon as I placed him down again so I needed to pick him straight up and rock back to sleep. Finally at 2am he must have been so shattered he then slept until 7am but geez, from 8pm til 2am I had to keep getting up just as I was getting comfy again 😫

Please tell me he'll figure it out and stop getting frustrated and need saving every time?!

Yes lo will figure it out. Do you go rushing to lo? Sounds mean, but I read it somewhere it's OK to let lo to get frustrated when there learning a new skill to a certain point. As it teaches them to do it themselves.

Plenty of practise in day too!! To help master the new skill.

No I don't exactly rush in but I try to get there before meltdown. I let him fuss until the shouting starts to sound more urgent and angry, but before proper crying. Should I leave him to it longer still?

You know you lo, if you feel your going in to too soon. Leave another 10 seconds. How old is lo ??I would probably go in before a meltdown. Especially in night. Certainly in day I be practising going front to back continuously and letting lo get frustrated a bit longer then in the night.

He’s 4.5 months. In the day I let him wiggle around and fuss in peace until again it sounds like he’s getting too worked up, but at night I go get him a bit sooner as I want to get some sleep too and the sooner I can call him down the sooner I can go back to bed. He’s not yet great at rolling back from tummy to back although has done it a few times.
