is it safe to keep giving calpol ever night?

hi i need help and advice. my ten month old daughter will only sleep all night if she has calpol or nurofen if we dont give her these she wakes up screaming everynight she is teething a lot of time but my hv said i was to stop giving her calpol and nurofen as it does their stomach long term damage has any one any ides or advice please help as i dont want to keep giving my daughter the calpol every night if it does harm but i cant bare to see her sufferng

So you've given 25ml in total when the dose you could've given her was 20ml each day. Really really don't worry - that's far less.

hi just 2 let u all know i wentto doctors 2day with my dd she hasfluid inside her ears as she has a head cold i just to keep an eye make sure they dont get infected iv to try settling her without calpol but if she is in pain then i have to give it to he so im still at square one as i know giving her calpol everynight does damage to kidneys and stomach but doctor said iv to do wat seems right and try not use calpol even though thats all that settles her is ashton and parsons better than anbesol as i use liquid anbesol but my dd wont let us put in on anymore

Glad you got it sorted with the doc. I'd say - if you're sure it is pain making her cry at night, as it is at the moment, then give her calpol as on the label. I mean, the cold should clear up in a few days, shouldn't it.

I'm glad you got it checked on YFM - sounds like she'll be right as rain in a few days. Give calpol if you think she needs it - you won't be hurting her by giving it. If you're still worried, decrease the dose to a half and see if she'll settle with that. xxx
