Hi all, my baby boy is now 2weeks and no matter what we try of the past 4 nights between 2100 - 0200 am he wont sleep.we give him his feed around 2100 hes alert and awake,we settle him he sleeps or is sleepy in my arms or with dad but when we go to place him in the next to me crib he cries,so we get him up place him on play mat hell kick about then go sleepy again,he may take more bottle but again when we go to place in next to me hes awake.
Last night 1.30am my hubby brought moses basket up and he finally went down and they slept in another bedroom.
I have looked at some old feeds and ppl mention the pillows is it sleephead to place in next to me....never bought one as midwife advised me not to buy one!our room isnt cold if anything its warm he kicks covers off. Tried sleeping bag he doesnt like, bedsheets arent cold, hes had a bath to chill him out which he likes, jst dont knw what else to do.
Weve read up on colic but i dont fink hes showing all signs of it,he isnt crying non stop jst on and off. Should we try the drops u can buy for colic?
Any help welcome,1st time parents thinking what can we do xxx

At that age you'll probably find it's because they just want to sleep on you! Young babies are programmed to wake up if they're away from their parent. It's brutal, but does get better. For the first few weeks my DD slept on me for most of the night. Overtime she did longer and longer in the next to me...maybe do shifts for a little bit so at least baby sleeps and you and your partner hopefully get enough. Keep trying with the next to me and overtime it'll improve. Sometimes there's no magic solution and you just have to ride it out!
