recap: until a week ago he woke up to 10 times a night. wailed and wailed whether in cot or in with us. fed once or twice just becasue he's settle more quickly afterwards

cc started sunday night

for a couple of nights he was still waking 2 or 3 times - esp durin the evening

last 2 nights i haven't had to go to him til 5am

he has woken once each evening at 10ish but has gone back off after 2 or 3 mins of crying

have had to use cc for a good 30 or 40 mins for the early morning wake, but he's then slept til 7ish

yeah it works

you knew it would

I knew it would

Some people don't believe in doing anything the child doesn't want

Some people believe in different forms of teaching good habits / sleep habits

different horses for different courses

happy for you tutterling

foxinsocks · 19/01/2008 14:09

aaaahh.

is he still having a feed at 10/11?

PerkinWarbeck · 19/01/2008 14:10

good for you.

for teething hell tho.

Tutter · 19/01/2008 14:11

no, foxy

haven't done 10pm feed for either ds - seems like asking for trouble to wake them

but am aware that it may bbe due to him gettion hungry that he takes longer to go back to sleep at 5am

but then agaion when he wakes at 7 (or whenever) he doesn't seem famished - is happy to wait for a nappy change and for me to faff around for 10 mins before feeding him

don't see why you're stunned cod .. it's rather a tried and tested format of teaching sleep patterns .. well it was before it all got a little more baby-focused here

castille · 19/01/2008 15:48

Good for you! Bet you feel a whole new woman.

I haven't admitted to having used CC on here, but I'm so glad you're braver than me because so many of us quite literally start losing the will to live through lack of sleep

Shitemum · 19/01/2008 15:55

Am back, now excused from parental duties as they are asleep.
Well done Tutter, and a pat on the back to myself too i put my foot down a week or so ago too = result. DD2 16mo was waking at 10pm-ish too and i would usually end up picking her up but she invariably burped or farted so i think that was probably why she was waking - sore tummy. Last few nights she hasn't done that and she's managing to stay asleep till 6.30am or 7am or even 8am-ish compared to 3.30 - 5.30am before CC. She's even had a snotty cold the last few days and it's still working!

I'm not feeling half as on-edge and depressed as i was a couple of weeks ago. Thank god.

Well done! When we didn't hear from you I was afraid you'd been persuaded to change your mind. Here's to a revitalised Tutter.
