erm, this is quite hard isn' it.

she is used to getting a bottle of milk if she wakes in night but can't be ars*d any more. 18 mths is too old for all that nonsense isn't it?

have been in and settled her back down twice, stroked head, blah blah. starts screaming again soon as I step away from cot.

I should jjust leave her to cryit out right? is that right?

Am actually quite in awe of the noises she is making, never heard her do that before. she is incredibly cross

Controlled crying doesn't mean just crying it out. It means going back in a minute and then in two minutes and then in three etc. Takes patience on your part, and I know it's hard. Sorry, you know that I'm sure.

Personally I gave water as an alternative (well, started with diluted formula until it wasn't worth calling it milk any more and DS lost interest - made it easier to be sure that the crying wasn't hunger or thirst.

peaches is right on both counts.

Flum · 16/01/2008 23:27

offered her water second time I went up. she just stopped for a few minutes but started again now.

with my first I was hard as nails. literally left her too it and did not go in at all. only took three nights. have softened up since though.

i guess this is more uncontrolled crying

She's asleep in 12 minutes? heh, that's good going. Well done you. And her!

Flum · 16/01/2008 23:35

she is really an easy baby, just she is used to getting milk and a cuddle at night. not her fault mine for being a pushover for so long. wanted to keep my babe a babe i guess

Flum · 16/01/2008 23:39

i guess they won't be waking up for a bottle when they are 15. bottle of beer maybe
