26 month old dropping nap question?

So my 26 month old has had a horrible period overnight recently where she was waking at 4am we seem to have stretched this to 5am now but she was waking once a night and I had to tuck her back in. Anyway the past two days she has not napped and slept all night with no waking. She has just fallen asleep in the pushchair, on days where she falls asleep would you cap this or let her sleep as long as she likes?

Personally, I would cap it. At that age it was no longer than 30 mins and now at 2y9m it's no longer than 10 mins. My child goes to sleep easier and sleeps longer if she hasn't slept in the day.

Perfect thank you, that’s what I was thinking. Very sad about losing the nap lol!

I thought I'd be sad as well but actually it's quite liberating. No more nap to schedule activities around etc.

I just let her watch TV after lunch instead. That way I still have a rest!

Yep, cap it for now but accept that this is the beginning of the end of the nap! She'll probably go through a period of napping some days and not others, depending on what you're doing etc. We instituted quiet time when our first dropped her nap- it was great and meant we still got an hour of us time. Strongly recommend!

Yes that’s true about not being restricted by naps, I have a 13 month old too who has just dropped to one nap so that also feels quite freeing. Will definitely introduce some chill out time in place of the nap
