stopping night feeding, any advice

9 months old waking two or three times a night, My Hv suggested stop feeding at night as DD is well established on solids and getting all her calories through the day.
I dont know how to go about it!
She goes off to bed fine, leave to cry for 5 minutes and she's out sometimes I sing to her and that sends her off. However she cry's blue murder if I dont feed her in the night. Have left her to cry but cant stand it and give in.
When she wakes up should I leave her to cry for a bit and do Cc, which i would find really difficult. Do I pick her up and rock her, (which makes her cry even more)
When i leave her to cry and then go in she rolls over and screams even more, should I just leave her to it and dont go in?
She has to learn how to fall asleep on her own!
Do they eventually sleep on there own but when?
If I dont do it now will it get more difficult later down the road?
I get enough sleep as i go to bed early but really this night waking should of stopped by now. Sick of all my friends babies sleeping through at the same age...
Lord give me stengh!
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem.

I just posted on a similar thread about a 6 month old so all typed out.

I'm using a book called "Solve your child's sleep problems" by Dr Richard Ferber.

Good Luck

For my four this is when DH traditionally stepped in. He got up to comfort in the night and pretty soon (usually within a week) my babies stopped bothering to make nocturnal demands as they knew they'd only get hairy old dh and not soft milky mummy.

Mind you mine were a little older. More like 12 months, but the same priciple should apply.

Good luck.

I tryed it at 6 months and it's so much easier but she fell ill and i resorted to the boob again.
I went and did sush pat for a few nights and it was working, a definate improvement and a few sleep throughs.
Do it know before they can stand up and move about.
Good luck.
