Why is my 3mo so restless?

From around 4.30am until they wake for the day my 3mo is so restless in his next to me crib its insane. His eyes are closed and he isn't crying but he will just thrash around as frequently as every 5 mins, on average every 10/15mins. I don't know how he can actually still be getting sleep as I certainly am not with with the sounds of him thumping his legs up and down, kicking off his blanket. I have now put him in sleep sack to solve blanket issue but he is still thrashing about like anyone's business and is waking me. Can anyone shed any light? He goes down to bed between 7 30/8 after his bottle, wakes around 1.30/2 for his next feed then goes back down well until 4 30 hits when he becomes some kind of feral sleep animal! Usually we start the day around 7.15-7.45.

Normal. But does my head in.

Literally counting down the days until I can evict mine into their own room.

Yessss I feel you! I feel as though I'm in between a rock and a hard place though cos as soon as I evict restless baby I have to go back to sharing with hideously snoring husband! I basically just want a room to myself 😢 😄

Mine was similar but as he got a little older. He started sleeping in his own room at 5 months because I realised that his crib wasn't giving him enough room. He hated to touch the sides of it and and soon as he did he didn't settle just kept fussing around.
No advice just wanted to give solidarity 💪😊 lack of sleep 😔

Normal and same here. Baby went in their own room at four months and we are all now sleeping so much better.

Ds use to do this. I evicted him Wink

How far is baby's room from yours OP? My 10 week Old's room is at the other end of the house to me so I'm keeping him here for another couple of months. With my other 2, however, we were in a small 3 bed semi so the nursery was about 6 feet from my side of the bed!

Just giving you 'permission' if you're seeking it and your setup is safe to chuck him out into his own room Grin

WineIsMyCarb · 07/04/2022 13:42

That's to say I moved my other 2 (in the old house) into their room after about a month (sturdy babies, non smoking house, 6 feet away from my side of the bed, as described).

Far enough away to hear then squeak but with an ajar door to muffle bloody kicking and dummy sucking!

Both of mine were like this. I put it down to sleep cycles and/or digestion. Youngest used to literally shake his head from side to side.
