Is this is a regression? Or does my child get possessed

DD is 18 months. Recently night weaned which thankfully got her sleeping through. Before that she was a rubbish sleeper, sometimes waking every hour.

Over the last 6ish months she's become much easier to put down for bedtime. No more feeding to sleep, she won't resist. We have a routine and she knows what's coming next.

BUT. She has phases, maybe every few weeks, where she will do anything and everything to not nap in the day. It usually seems to do with her teeth but how often can she be bloody teething?!?! She shows all the signs of tiredness, rubbing her eyes like mad and yawning. But. She. Will. Not. Sleep. And then will tantrum and tantrum until I give in and feed her to sleep. I've developed a feeding aversion and am honestly so done with breastfeeding but she clearly is not and will probably cry to the point of being sick if I don't concede.

To be honest my main confusion is the nap fighting. Some weeks she will go down without an issue. But this lasts only a short while before she battles begin again. Can these be regressions? Can they be THIS frequent?

I'm so fed up of having crap mornings because of these battles and tears and tantrums. It really sets the tone for the day and it's so difficult to go anywhere or plan anything when I just don't know when she will finally doze off.

If anyone's been through similar, please enlighten me!

Sorry to say, that's extending the problem. Make no plans for a few days and don't give in. It's hard work but if she knows you'll buckle, she'll keep at you. Best of luck.
