last night he woke but twice - 11pm and 4:30am

this - for anybody who hasn't followed the long and rather dull story of The Boy Who Doesn't Sleep - is good

disclaimer: tutter does not recommend tummy sleeping, but it seems fine with ds2, who is nearly 6mo, weighs over 21lbs and is a veritable geoff capes

i am amazed

Huzzah!!!!!!!!!!! Long may it continue - and improve, Tutter!!

WOW! I have been following your thread because I too have a boy exactly the same age who has never slept for longer than 3 hours at a time. Ive tried putting him on his front but only in the wee hours after he has woken about sixty million times... So did you put him on his fron at the start of the night????

CorrieDale · 04/01/2008 18:48

Hmmmmm. I might do this with DD. She's a pretty random sleeper - actually she's like the little girl with the little curl: either very good or horrid. Am expecting a bad night tonight and she certainly used to want to sleep on her front. I'll try that when she wakes for her next feed.

Tutter · 04/01/2008 18:49

yep

started off doing it very tentatively, only when he was next to me in our room at the end of the night

but could see he was comfortable, could lift himself easily, and got the hang quickly of putting his head to one side

Tutter, I have only read one of your threads (about giving up 'mummy's little helper') but can understand the elation at some sleep!

I have a 3.5 yr old DS with SN who has not slept more than 3 hrs at a time for over 2 years, apart from when he had a GA or was sedated/seriously ill in hosp.

Yesterday he was given a 'scrip for liquid melatonin, he slept from 7.30pm to 4.15 am. I felt like a new woman this am.

I hope Tutterling continues to zzzzz

Tutter · 04/01/2008 18:51

hope your nights continue to improve
