Stomach sleepers - when did you tummy sleep again after C section please?

Please help! I've always been a tummy sleeper and now really struggling. I'm having to get up every 3 hours to feed DS (needed combi feeding so pump too unfortunately) but it takes me ages to fall back asleep on my back so am getting only 1-2 hours total sleep a night.

It's been a week since my section and scar looks to be healing very well and I've reduced the paracetamol or ibuprofen to just a couple of times a day (now more aches than actual pain). When I try to roll on my belly though it's still fairly uncomfortable at the moment (possibly the bruising rather than the stitches themselves) so I'm worried I could do damage.

So please, give me some hope as I don't know if I can last another 5 weeks of back/side sleeping - when did you tummy sleep again?

Honestly? It took me 2-3 weeks to comfortably sleep on my side and 4-6 before I even attempted my tummy

Pretty much immediately I think? As long as you can find a way to lie comfortably, then it won’t do any harm.

I think about 3 weeks for me, I so missed sleeping on my stomach!

Took about 2-3 weeks for ms

Have you tried sleeping on your side with a pregnancy pillow or rolled up duvet...I found as a natural tummy sleeper that really helped both in pregnancy and after recovery. Not entirely sure why though. Lol

Thanks all Flowers. Looks like it varies a bit - although I'm really hoping it'll only be 2 to 3 weeks for me as that means I'm halfway through! Unfortunately I'm not sure side sleeping with a pillow will help much - tried that during pregnancy and I couldn't get on with it (ended on on tummy instead, just with my leg bent up a bit so most of the pressure was on my hip and my knee rather than my belly). Still might be worth a try again though, thanks.

10 years and counting Sad

Just couldn’t manage it anymore after converting to side sleeping in pregnancy. On the plus side I don’t have neck problems any more, on the negative side I have shoulder problems instead….
