BF 4weeks sleeping through the night?

My baby is 4 weeks old, she was born 7lb 9oz and is breastfeeding, the last 3 nights she's slept really well, around 5 hours! Then tonight she's gone 7 hours! She's had a feed and is back to sleep.
She cluster fed a lot yesterday and was almost on me constantly, she is cluster feeding more during the day the last few days then sleeping well at night but my question is, is this okay for 4 weeks? I haven't weighed her but she seems to be filling out and gaining weight.

I did try the wake them every 3 hours and feed them but when I did this, she said pile be feeding for an hour and finding it hard to settle and I thought it might be because I was waking, the last 3 nights when she wakes, I feed her and she settles better?

Enjoy this time!

She might be having a little growth spurt, and sleep can be an indication of that (especially coupled with the cluster feeding during the day).

Assuming plenty of wet and dirty nappies? (Indication of her feeding well)

I think when you hear so many stories of bf babies not sleeping through, it’s always alarming when they do. It might not last but just make sure she’s draining your boobs during the day, and there’s wet nappies.

Congratulations on your baby too. Hope you’re doing ok

Some babies do sleep straight through from a couple of weeks old. My little one has slept for 8 hours through the night consistently from about 4 weeks. As long as they are feeding well during the day and everything else is normal then it's fine (just don't tell any of the other mums at the baby groups Wink).

Congratulations and enjoy it whilst it lasts!
If the baby is feeding well in the day and gaining weight then sounds like a dream..... just be aware that sleep is very up and down in the first year so you'll no doubt hit a few rocky patches ahead x

Happy baby. Enjoy your sleep!

There's no need to wake them up for 3 hourly feeds after the first few days, unless there's a problem with weight gain. She will decide when she wants feeding. If that's mostly within the daytime then hooray!
