Talk to be about next to the bed cots.

Baby is due August. 2nd baby. 9 years between this one and the last.
Been looking at Next2Me and snuzpod type next to the bed cots. Plan is to breastfeed again and from last time having them easily close would be a plus.

However, it looks like the majority of these are only usable up to 5-6 months, have you found this?

I've just seen a next2me forever, which can last much longer, worth the price increase?

I also need to check if this style would fit next to the bed - I like the snuzpod because the legs are at the end and don't have to go under the bed (hope that makes sense!)

Interested to hear from those who have used these or similar ones and what you've found.

If I was buying again I'd get the Tutti Bambini Cozee, because it folds up easily for travel and I prefer the way it looks to the Next2Me.

I had a Snuzpod 2 which looked good next to the bed but it didn't have a recline function which would have been helpful (two reflux babies!), I think the more recent Snuzpod models have it though.

It depends how much space you have in your bedroom, because some babies outgrow the bedside crib before they're old enough to go in their own room (or before you're ready to move them), so as a general rule I would get the biggest crib/cot that you can comfortably fit there.

@abyssofwoah

With DC1 we had a snuzpod and they did still end up in over in my bed most of the time. And grew out of it very quickly. With DC2 we got a second hand cotbed and took one side off and put it up next to the bed. Being bigger, it meant I could half lie in it to cuddle and feed the baby lying down (gamechanger). Worked much better.
Absolutely we did the same! Feel the next to me completely ripped us off because the cot with side down was x10 times cheaper and 100x better!

Thank you everyone. Really helpful reading everyone's thoughts.
We're re-jigging the bedroom before baby arrives so hopefully space will be a bit less tight.
Lots to think about and some more things to look at.

Rarely used, just a barrier so baby doesn't fall out of our bed. Just sits there looking pretty in the room haha

We have the Tutti Bambini Cozee which I love. We stopped using it at 6 months when we transferred little one to the main cot but she's 8 months now and we still use it as a travel cot as it's so easy to put up/down.and fairly lightweight.

I used it with the side down until about 3 or 4 months as a next to me type thing and then with the side up as a normal crib after that. It's so much more stylish than the others too IMO. Also has a bit of storage underneath for light things like an extra blanket, muslins or whatever.

We got the IKEA Gulliver cot which you can take one side off and attach it to your bed. Look online for the IKEA hacks to do this. Saved us so much money as when baby was about 4 months, we just put the side back on and DS used the cot u til he was 3.

Love the Snuzpod. As you said, the legs mean it can sit totally flush with the bed, so I could drag the babies across for feeds, instead of lifting them up and out.
Made night feeds so much easier and would be essential if you have a c section

I had the Next2Me at PILs and the legs meant it couldn’t fit under a divan bed so there was a gap which always freaked me out.

And the maxicosi one has a small side so also means you can’t slide them out, and have to lift instead.

The Snuzpod holds its value quite well if you want to sell it on when you’re finished with it

@NameChange30 I had stumbled on that one just earlier so have added it to the list to research a bit more.
@Luckyelephant1 good to know it's laying a bit longer for the occasional use.

@SW1amp I think the next2me is getting ruled our as we have a divan bed, and I just don't think the legs will work.

Thank you again everyone. Really appreciate your thoughts.
