Does my baby nap enough?

My DD is 7 months old tomorrow & she co sleeps with me as she refuses to fall asleep alone and as soon as I move her into the cot she screams. I really struggle to settle her for a nap and when she finally falls asleep it's not for long. I would say she has 2 hours in total naps throughout the day but she is sleeping 12 hours at night. She is also a very light sleeper so I can't get anything done in the time she's asleep because she wakes up to even the slightest bit of noise. Is This normal ? has anyone had the same experience?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, lots of babies are like this. And different babies need different amounts of sleep. I wouldn't worry especially as she's sleeping so well at night.

However I do know how annoying it is to have a light sleeper/a baby who will only contact nap (as lovely as it can be). Are you breastfeeding? I sometimes find that if I fee her lying down in bed or sofa eventually (and not everytime) if I'm patient I can unlatch her, roll over and either sleep myself or get up and leave the room.

Yes she EBF! I do this too however, if I roll her over into the cot she will wake up more or less straight away wanting to be back in bed ! Xx

If you have s rug or carpet in living room, you can feed her to sleep lying on the floor. Then once asleep, unlatch and toll away.

Then - crucially - don't move her. Just leave her on the floor to sleep. Ideally have her in a baby sleeping bag as feeding to sleep. Then she will stay warm.
