Your routine - 6 months

Can I ask your routine for your babies at 6 months? And also how many times your baby wakes or if they sleep through for perspective?

My LB was a fantastic sleeper from 8 weeks then at 18 weeks teething started and completely through him off. Both bottom teeth are fully through now and we are now longer teething! HaloHe's now 6 months and since the teething disturbed his sleep he wakes every 15 minutes for the first two hours of being put down then after that he sleeps no longer than an hour max. He just seems so unsettled it's gone from one end of the scale to the other. We currently do bath, bottle in the rocking chair and then into his cot. Any suggestions to help him or something I could change? He sleeps great in the day just at night. Smile

I think I aimed for
9 till 10 am nap
1230pm or 1pm till 2 pm till 230pm
430pm or 445pm awake by 515 or 530pm depends on how tired I thought she was. Always awake by 530pm.
8pm sleep approx

Does lo self soothe?

I think my lo was waking a lot at that point, but she was in our room. We moved her to her own room about 6.5 months old. And slept better, but still needed a bottle or 2 in night.

We did do sleep training at this point, too, though. Which helped massively so we knew she was waking because she was hungry, etc.

@ChittyBang1987 hi! No he won't self settle. Always needs to be in our arms. Part of him waking up is him constantly rolling on his belly and then that's when he cries x

Lo needs to be able to self settle for anything to change. ATM lo is used to you rocking or holding to sleep. Your lo expects to be held or rocked each time to connect the sleep cycle.

Some people say they will learn it through time and stick with what your doing. Others say some sleep training will help. There's a wide variety of sleep training out there you could do if you choose it.

Going on to belly in the night - the best thing to do is lots of tummy time and help teach lo to roll back. It's OK to allow lo to get a little frustrated before helping.

DD2 is roughly;

6am: Wake
Breakfast
8.30am: Nap, 30 mins
Snack
11.30am: Nap, 30 mins
Lunch
2.30pm: Nap, 30 mins
Dinner
6pm: Bath, bottle, bed

Is a milk refuser so we do offer bottles in the day but she prefers water, so has been weaned since 4mo.

She settles to sleep by herself in her crib from wide awake, sleeps until around 10pm and then is awake every hour until I cave and bring her into bed with me. Doesn’t want milk, will sometimes have water.

Proof I guess that self settling isn’t a silver bullet for sleep issues….either that or the non sleeping gene is strong in our offspring 🤦🏻‍♀️
