What naps does/did your 12month+ old take?

Just wondering how life is going to change for us in the next few months/year - currently DS (almost 10 mths) naps about an hour at 9.30, then about 1.5 hours at 12.30/1, although he's becoming difficult to settle for the 2nd nap so I'm wondering whether to cut the first one and/or put him down later for the 2nd one.

The lunchtime nap thing is OK - it means we can get out and do stuff in the afternoon - but it does make lunches out a bit difficult, and I'd like to get back to seeing friends for lunch one day!

hmmm, lunches out? I still find these difficult and ds1 is nearly 3! I'm expecitn that he'll drop his lunchtime sleep sometime in the next few months though. He went from two naps to one at about 15 months, but I've always found he needed to take that not much after 12 or he would be too tired to eat lunch beforehand....

Oh dear, lunches out are a thing of the past then are they?

only if you're as anal about your ds's naps as me
Seriously most people I know seemed to manage a slightly later nap time so you could maybe squeeze in lunch beforehand....but then lunch out (as in cafe/restaurant) isn't that relaxing an experience with a toddler anyway! What did work for me was inviting people over for lunch, timing their arrival for once ds1 safely out of the way...

anal, that's definitely me!

Yes, I'm having to invite people over too - humph.

ds2 has just turned 1 and has started to drop his morning sleep. He does tend to have an hour or more in the afternoon after lunch, but as he much prefers eating to sleeping we haven't had a problem with eating out with him!
We tend to have lunch out at weekends and both ds1 (3) and ds2 are fine - take cars / pencils etc for the waiting, and breadsticks for ds2 in case he's getting really hungry. Ds2 will then sleep in the pushchair or car on the way home.

Well that gives me some hope zubb
