Clocks going back

Hi..

I am sure this topic is covered every time the clocks go back, but I did a search for old threads and couldn't find anything.

Anyway, I was wondering how you sort out what will inevitably be earlier wakenings?? Do you just try and increase awake times a bit until they are back to normal sleep times again??

I do not fancy going from 6.45am to 5.45 wakeups on a regular basis!!

Any tips greatly received.

Sari when did you get the clock? I tried to buy one a few weeks ago and everywhere had stopped selling them, even GLTC.

I bought the rabbit clock from GLTC a while ago and it successfully stopped our then 3 year-old getting up every night and coming into our room. It's since broken (thanks to our 2 year-old I suspect) but I'll have to get another one as our eldest (now 4) says he keeps waking up and calling for me as he misses his bunny clock. The toy shop Tridias sell them but I thought they were still available in GLTC too.

Blooming Marvellous do both the Bunnytime and Winnie the Pooh Alarm Clocks and they are £19.99 each. i haven't tried them myself but just use a normal clock for my almost 5 yr old. If he wakes up before 7am he is allowed to turn on his bedside light and look at some books but is under strict instructions not to come in. if he does he tends to get marched straight back to his room depending on how tired I am. I find that the more you let them in to your bed the more they come in and earlier and earlier too so it is best to try and keep them in their rooms. DS comes in at 7 and then we all have a cosy cuddle until about 7.30 so he doesn't feel like he is getting pushed away - and I like a nice cuddle too!

Just realised I was looking at an old catalogue and BM have now stopped doing these clocks too. I wonder why they are all stopping them, maybe they're not so good after all.

Have you tried Boots or John Lewis?

One arrived as a gift last week from a friend, and she had got it through GLTC, so try them again. It was the rabbit.

We used to use a pretty lamp and put the plug on a timer switch. So when the light comes on, its daytime. When the light is off, it's nighttime. Much cheaper than a bunny lamp and you can use the lamp later on when they don't need the timer.
