4.5 month old bedtime??

Hi everyone.

So my 4.5 month old son has become increasingly grumpy before going to bed. He tends to go to bed around 8pm after his bottle and then, lucky for us, will sleep through until about 7am.

Our routine tends to be we take him out in the pram for a walk and fresh air anywhere between 5.30 - 6 and he has a little 30 min nap then to avoid being too overtired for his bottle and bedtime. He has his bottle around 7 - 7.30 then bed at 8pm. However he is very very fussy with his feed, fine for his other bottles and by the time we put him in his sleeping bag he is either fussing like mad or worst case, screaming blue murder. He is becoming harder and harder to put to bed because of his mood. Can anyone perhaps shed some light on where I'm going wrong? 😟

I'm not sure but my baby is getting mad at his bottle at night so wanted to comment so I could follow with interest!

He is starting to get angry at bottles during the day so I've ordered the next teat size to try.

Is it worth trying feeding him as soon as he wakes up from his last nap? Then just offer him a bottle before bed to top him up? That way he will already have had the bulk of his feed so if he gets fussy and doesn't take much it doesn't matter so much?

Ps you're not going wrong anywhere - this whole thing is trial and error! You're doing a great job :)

My son is the same age and does this too. Usually I put him down and even though he screams I let him for a few moments I try a dummy in between (even though he doesn’t usually take one) then I lift him for a cuddle and try his bottle again. I find sometimes he acts like he isn’t hungry but he is and gets so worked up and also overtired then which is the worst! It’s brilliant your son sleeps the whole night after can you teach me this Grin
