My beautiful DD is a week old. feeds Every 2 hours in the day and sleeps in between. Until it gets to about 2am. Then she's up the whole night. She won't be put down she just wants feeding. Atm I'm going to bed at 6, then my husband wakes me for a feed every 2 hours then she goes back down stairs with him where he keeps her on him because he dosent want her to wake then when she comes in at about 2/3 hel go to sleep and I'll stay up with her. This is fine for now but he's going back to work soon. If she slept for 2 hours in between feeds at nights that would be amazing. I know she's only tiny and wants to be on us but she isn't bothered in the day time, she'll sleep anywhere! We've tried swaddling/white noise/ hot water bottle. Any tips please?

This is exactly the same as what happened to us. It’s completely normal. As the days go on she’ll sleep longer. We tried everything & nothing worked, in the end we used a sleeping bag and put her in her pram bassinet as her next to me crib she hated because it was too big. She started sleeping 2/3 hrs.
Not what you want to hear but I’d say it just takes time. Congratulations on you’re little one 🎉

She likes her pram so maybe we should bring the bassinet up. Thank you. Good to know it gets better xx

Please don’t let your husband have your baby on him when he is on the sofa or chair - it is a SIDS risk. In fact he shouldn’t be sleeping with the baby at all - see safe co sleeping guidance from Lullaby Trust. It’s so hard when they’re this age and want to cluster feed for hours at a time but it’s totally normal. Sleep whenever you can and take as much help as possible but please make sure the sleeping situation is safe!

He dosent sleep with her. She sleeps on him. He's never fallen asleep if he feels tired he goes on the exercise ball or walks around. We're both aware of the risks. He sleeps in the day so he can do this
