Nap schedule in childcare

My little girl is 5 months old tomorrow and will be starting with a childminder when she is 6 months full time as I am going back to work.
My little one has a rough nap routune which does vary on a day to day basis depending on how well a nap has gone but fitting the third nap in has become tight and has to be in the car for a chance of it working and sometimes it just isn't working at the moment.
I am therefore looking at changing her routine a bit to try and get the third nap to work in bed as once she goes to the childminder it will have to be in a bed as clearly the childminder can be driving her around.
Was wondering what others littles ones routines are at 6 months? Or whether anyone recommends a app or website?
She is sleep trained so can go to sleep on her own, gets up at 7am and goes to bed at 7pm

6 months old feels so long ago. I think the rough routine what most people do is
9am sleep

1230/1 - sleep
430pm cat nap

Typically they start to drop the afternoon nap from 6 months. The chances of getting her to sleep in a cot or bed at that time are slim.
I’d say you can do the following

  • if she has a decent lunchtime nap, ask the staff to take her out in the pram for a walk in the afternoon
  • if she has a short lunchtime nap, try the bed
Overall you can expect quite a big adjustment and a few weeks of messy sleep but she’ll get there in the end’

The childminder will fix it. My son went to a childminder at 7 months having never slept in a cot for naps at home. To begin with he slept in a buggy in the hallway, then a travel cot, now he takes himself to bed there when he’s tired age 2. He started doing cot naps at home a few months after he started. But definitely never takes himself to bed here 😂. Your baby will fall into the childminder’s routine

Maybe I can just hope she has a catnap in the pram when the childminder is on school run. At the moment she won't sleep in the pram for me but she hates the bassinet so when she goes up to the seat hopefully this will be different.

I was wondering if it would be messy for a few weeks. Really dont want to have to put her to bed early as it leave next to no time to give her dinner (when weaning) and at the moment if she does go to bed early she wakes in the night to talk. But I suppose it is what is 🤷

Your lo might do things differently for someone else. My lo won't sleep on the go longer then 45mins in the buggy but will for my oh.

As it's a childminder, they should be pretty experienced and know what there doing with lo's. It might be messy until the routine is all established.

What time will you be picking you lo up?
