Gassy baby. Help!

Hi Everyone.
My DD is 6 weeks old and she is extremely windy. She burps really well but is very unsettled with wind. It's waking her up at least every hour in the night. I'm not really getting any sleep at night.
She's on Aptamil comfort milk and I use anti colic MAM bottles.
Considering swapping to HIPP organic and Dr Brown bottles.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
How old was everyone's babies when wind/grunting stopped?

Thanks in advance Smile

These first few months are tough when they're so tiny so hang in there - you're doing great!

Can only suggest

  • warm bath at bedtime to relax her
  • cycling her legs and gentle belly massages
  • keeping her upright for 10/15 minutes after a feed to make sure all the "top gas" is out
  • try stirring her milk with a sterile spoon (new spoon every bottle) instead of shaking the bottle to mix it up. Shaking caused bubbles (the layer you see at the top of the milk) whereas stirring reduces this
  • and for you, a hug because it really is tough having a gassy baby - DS2 settled after a few months but has a cows milk allergy which was the root cause

Xxx

I found infacol really helped my baby when she was windy. I would also lay her over my knees like the photo which helped to get it all out. You can also do bicycle legs with them and then gently press their knees into their tummy and that relieves the wind too -

My baby probably stopped being gassy at around 6 months.

Thank you for all your responses.

My first born as the same but can't remember how long it lasted.

I have tried all of the above, think it will just be a case of riding it out 😭

Are you using a dummy? That often helps significantly.

Also swaddling helps calm the grunting and wriggling.

What about gripe water. Makes big air bubbles, smaller, so not so painful and so less uncomfortable. Great stuff
