6 month old baby up for hours at night - are the naps the issue?

Baby is 6 months. Routine is as follows.

Awake 7.30 - bottle
Breakfast 8.30
Bottle 10 - down for a nap
Awake between 11/11.30
Lunch 11.30
Bottle 1
Nap 1/1.30- 4
Bottle 4
Dinner 5.30
Bath, story, bottle, bed at 7.

For the last 3 days has been waking at 11pm and staying awake for hours. Happy, not really crying but will cry if left in cot. Dummy put in but won't go back to sleep unless walked around or taken for a drive. Any ideas?

Also to mention, I always offer her a bottle if she wakes but she refuses it.

Could you try shortening the late afternoon nap so it's 1-3? I remember my daughter at this age was ready to be awake for a bit longer before bedtime.

Way too much daytime sleep, that's almost 4-4.5 hours a day! At that age we were doing morning nap of 30 minutes, 9.45-10.15, lunchtime nap 1-3, bed at 6.45.

Aww I remembered this stage so well
With both mine. Unfortunately I just think all
Babies are different- my two weren't big day time nappers but went to bed at 6:30 - 5/5:30 with the odd wake up during the night. Obviously if your baby needs lots of sleep during the day, there's not really much you can do other than push bed time back until they're ready for bed. Maybe try bedtime later this evening about 8/8:30 to see ? Good luck

Maybe it's developmental? My lo did this at that age. I think day time sleep for my lo was about 3 to 3.5 hours at that age. I didn't allow much more then 3.5 sometimes 4 depends on the day

Thanks everyone! I'll try shorten the afternoon nap and put her to bed a bit earlier. I can't push her bedtime any later as she is already exhausted by this point!

Look at her wake windows too. She shouldn't be awake for more than 2.5 hours between naps. Maybe try 2 1.5 hour naps and a 30 min nap about 4pm.
