Clocks go back ... anyone dreading it?

Anyone out there dreading the clocks going back! Ive got a 3month old who has been sleeping well but my mum friends have been warning the clock change can really affect this.
I plan to keep him up and hour later and do feeds an hour later - what is everyone else doing?

We decided just to stretch the first awake window to its maximum and still put lo down at 9am tomorrow 🤷🏼‍♀️ then keep naps about the same for the rest of the day and hope it works out through the day x

DD2 is only 12 weeks so will hopefully enjoy the lie in without her sister waking her up - though tomorrow will probably be the first time she wakes herself, just for a laugh.

DD1 (2.11) has gone to bed at normal time so she’ll be awake at 5 instead of 6, but the ‘sun’ won’t be up so hopefully she’ll just play in her room like last year 🤞🏼

Sun on her Gro Clock I mean - I moved it back an hour 😂

I’m not in the UK but used to live there.

The clocks going back at the end of October seems really late.

Didn’t it used to be the beginning of October?

Doesn't affect me as no kids and I don't work weekends. However my hubby is on shift this weekend (one 15 hr day and one 14hr day) and is delighted at an extra hour in bed.

plinkplinkfizzer · 30/10/2021 20:15

As I remember it is the other way around that causes most of the problems , the lighter nights , means they don't want go to sleep . Can hear Children outside playing etc . No peace .

No, for us the clocks going forward is much less of a bother

Heckythump1 · 30/10/2021 20:40

My eldest is 6, we've never done anything different for clocks going back or forward, always just put her to bed at her normal time. Never had any issues.... Littlest is only just one, planning on doing exactly the same with her tomorrow and hopefully will be just same :)

@Topseyt

I've no young children anymore, but I hate the clocks going back anyway. I hate the longer, darker nights and shorter days. It really makes me feel tired and depressed. I'd like to hibernate from about November until around the middle of February.
I'm exactly the same. Hate the darker days!
Meredusoleil · 30/10/2021 20:45

@RaininSummer

Hate it. Will only see proper daylight at weekends until the evenings lighten again.
Yes that's how I feel too 🙁

I just kept my children up later for a few nights and by the Saturday night their body locks were reset !
Today we kept my 22 month old grandchild up later before her afternoon nap and she then went to bed this evening over an hour later ,conveniently we had a village fireworks display so fingers crossed!!

My partner and myself forgot and our toddlers gro clock brought the sun … oops. Hello 5am… (kill me… long day ahead)

Timeturnerplease · 31/10/2021 07:12

@LittleLottieChaos Last year we forgot too and existed on caffeine and cake all day 😴
