6 month old won’t sleep

I need some advice…. My 6 month old won’t sleep whatsoever unless she is on me.

She’s always been an on/ off sleeper but more recently I can’t get her to sleep for more than an hour in her crib.
She’s waking up at least hourly screaming in hysterics.
When she does wake she’s up for 2/3 hours a time fighting to go back to sleep.
I’ve tried not giving her boob ( currently breastfeeding) but sometimes to save my sanity I give in and give it her. She suckles then falls asleep. The second I put her down again she screams hysterically.

She always refused a dummy and doesn’t suck on any fingers/ thumb.
She does have a comforter that doesn’t seem to do much.

I’m not too sure what else I can do I’m utterly exhausted and so is she 😢

Trying to move a sleeping baby is never a strategy that works as baby grows.

If you are feeding to sleep then her sleep quality would be better if you cosleep.

This is because as she gets older it becomes increasingly important for her to go to sleep in the same place she stays asleep. So if going to sleep snuggled to your torso, to stay there.

If you want her to sleep independently in the cot, then her quality of sleep will improve when she learns that 100% of the time she goes from fully awake to asleepall done in the cot. So seperating feeding and sleeping completely.

This will require sleep training and will involve (lots of) crying.

It won't necessarily involve crying but can do. Google gentle sleep training. I've heard some work from people. But I'm actually in the same boat with my 5m old. I haven't slept for more than an hour tonight because he wakes up every 45m or 10mins (lasted for 2h)... so no, I have no advice to give, sorry!
