Can a baby sleep too much?

I have a 7 week old boy who sleeps a LOT. We are getting a few more wakeful days but then he can go back to full days of sleeping. He literally wakes up to feed and then drops off again. I'm sure he slept for near 22hrs the other day and is looking to do the same today. Yesterday he was quite grisly and we had a fair amount of awake time.
He doesn't sleep through the night or for very long periods of time. Wakes every couple of hours for a (breast)feed. He can't be deliberately woken up easily either.
HV wasn't too concerned this morning as he's still young, growing & developing well.

Should I be concerned?

Enjoy being able to pee when you need to while it lasts, very soon the wake windows will increase and amount of naps will go down considerably. I wouldn't worry over it at this stage Smile

Fucking hell no, enjoy.

that is not scientific or a medical opinion

Thank you both. I think because he's so different to his brother (who had/has massive FOMO) it's freaking me out a bit. I don't know anyone who's baby sleeps so much.
I'm definitely making the most of it and not getting too blasé.... waiting for the evil sleep regressions to hit me hard x

My youngest was like this. Until 12 weeks she pretty much slept all the time.

She is now 2.5 and allergic to sleep.

Our second is the exact same.. he’s currently sleeping and has been for 3 hours. His brother, been up since 9:30😬😬😬😬

Hahaaha I'm literally muttering with envy right now.

At that age no they can't!! Like pp said enjoy being able to pee while you can and being able to eat without rocking a lo.

As long as wet and dirty nappies and your offering lots of breast go with it. As may change in the future x

Thanks all. His brother is 3 and his behaviour has massively changed since the baby came along. His eating, sleeping and toileting have all deteriorated so part of me is glad I have the time to address those issues.
Baby has plenty of wet nappies but he's so sleepy/lazy his latch is awful & often end up sore x

I know this is an old thread but I have similar worries (although my baby is only just over 2 weeks). I have been down a rabbit hole worrying if this is a sign of a problem, how did it work out with your little one?
