2 year old bed hopper

Long story short 2 year old used to be a great sleeper but since moving house 6 months ago it went tits up.
He now comes into our room in the night which we’ve accepted as it gets us the most sleep. BUT I do crave us having the bed to ourselves and it’s not ideal.
For those of you who also had / have bed hoppers - how did it stop? Did they just grow out of it or have I got to steel myself for the walking back to bed routine and the inevitable drama that will come with 🤣

My two year old went through a phase of this. It was after a holiday in which we shared a bed and so she got used to it. I always put her down in her own bed at the start of the night and eventually she just got bored I guess and started staying there.
That phase only lasted a few weeks for us though, if it’s been going on longer you might have to be a bit more determined and start taking him back to his own bed in the middle of the night.

Is 2 year old is a bed? (How long for?)

Or are you going to the cot and bringing into your bed?

Get a bed big for him big enough for you to jump in. That way you can resettle him and leave.

Stair gate on their bedroom door to stop them getting out?

We had a "bed bug" but I think she was 3ish when it was going on. Very clever, she'd sneak in from the bottom and we'd wake up in the morning squashed up on the edges and her sprawled out in the middle. We never heard a thing. We solved it by locking our bedroom door. Woke up to hearing the knob being turned in the middle of the night, when she realised she couldn't get in she stamped and boo hooed her way back to her own bed (not real crying). She tried a couple more times on the next nights and then no more. We had our stair gate at the top of the stairs, there wasn't room for one on their door which also had a step down into it as well, so we couldn't do what I'm suggesting you try.

Thanks everyone. He is in a toddler bed now but we’re thinking about getting him a single. I’d say it’s been going on about a month now and he’s waking around the same time every night so it feels like a habit.
@marchingtotheend2021 my dh did suggest taking him back to his bed when he’s asleep so might give this a go if we can stay awake long enough haha

Stickers for staying in his own bed and the promise of a paw patrol toy when he managed a week fixed it for us.
