Hey mummy’s and daddy’s out there smile my little one is 15 months old and still has a dummy for sleep time that’s all no judgements please. We have always used mam but they are just not working anymore for several reasons and we are concerned about teeth a family friend recommended nuk dummies and few mummy’s on a Rep group. Anyone else use these dummies I’m just worried at night time her sleeping with them because they are so much smaller than other brand dummies but she has taken really well to them during the day and they look so much better in her mouth for sure. Are they are safe at night ??? Anyone else use them and have an review please x

The brand is irrelevant, whatever your baby takes to is fine, but they do need to be from the appropriate age range. When you say they’re so much smaller than other dummies, you’re not using a newborn one are you? This could be a choking hazard for an older baby as the dummy is too small for their mouth and could potentially be swallowed. If you’re got the 6-18 month or 18-36 Nuk ones then they’ll be fine for a 15 month old to have overnight.

I also wouldn’t worry about how they look in her mouth, just try to limit to sleep time only- this is important for speech development. And of course it’s fine that a 15MO still has a dummy, based on people I know around 3 seems to be the average age to drop it. If anyone is judging you got that then they’re the one with the problem.

Yes It is the correct age range of course :) I always have used the correct age nuk dummies are a lot smaller than the mam dummies with the same age. I am aware of this her speech is amazing so not worried I have a degree in childcare and workwithin the environment so aware of these points you very kindly pointed out x Thankyou for your help
