Congested - did you pick them up?

My 4 week old sounds so congested if I lie him in his crib on a night time (he’s much better during the day). If I pick him up he sleeps silently on me, it’s just if he’s on his back he grunts, squeals and almost sounds as if he’s choking a little bit.
We have tried propping up the cot etc. And I am going to get some saline spray and an aspirator today but I just wanted some reassurance about leaving him in the crib when he’s making these noises...
I currently feel like I’m too scared to leave him so I end up picking him up, laying him on me and getting next to no sleep myself. Looking on forums it seems lots of people have gone through this with theirs.. did you leave them in the crib and do they eventually fall asleep or did you pick yours up too?

Are they congested with a cold or are they just a grunty baby? When mine were poorly I'd be a bit more lenient on the picking them up for comfort but less do if they were just grunting. Lots of threads on here re grunty babies if that's the issueSmile

I had one that sounded grunty and congested. Used nasal drops didn't make much of a difference 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

It's much safer for baby to be in the cot, grunting as babies often do, than to beheld at night.

A swaddle often calms a noisy baby.

I propped the head end up a bit like you do for reflux as that seemed to help. By a bit I mean a couple of inches
