My obsession - my child's sleep

Good morning all,

I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say I am obsessed with my LOs sleep. I'm a first time mum and a natural worrier so, naturally, I worry about whether my son is getting enough sleep or too much - my mind won't let me not worry 🤣

I'm currently typing this whilst he sleeps peacefully next to me, worried whether it's ok for him to have slept for 8 hours straight (and counting). I know, I know, I should probably enjoy it, and naturally it won't last (and I'll be begging for this stint to happen again) but here I am googling and writing yet ANOTHER sleep post for some reassurance!

So help a mother out and please reassure me it's ok for him to sleep this length of time without feeding?

For a bit of background he's formula fed, has between 5-7 feeds a day (these can be up to 7oz), is gaining weight very well (he was 15lb 6oz last time we was weight - 9lb 10 when he was born) and is overall in good health.

X

Totally normal. Babies need 11-12 hours sleep at night. A well rested baby is a happy baby. Stop worrying, enjoy your sleep and you will have energy to enjoy him during the day.
You got a good sleeper, embrace every hour.

If he's gaining weight and seems bright and alert when he's awake he's fine. It sounds like he's eating plenty in the day to get him through the night.
