Hey. I posted back when baby was a couple weeks old about the noises she makes when she sleeps. I thought they would’ve subsided or something by now, or at least get less severe. But nope… they are SO loud and she is grunting SO hard. This starts around 2.30am once she’s had a night feed and they occur maybe every 2-3 minutes. So basically I get no sleep. I usually give in about 4.30 and go downstairs where I’ll cuddle her just so my partner can get some sleep.

As soon as I pick her up, she goes silent too. I don’t know what else to do 😭 I’ve spoken to GP and HV about it who said ‘babies are noisy’ and I felt stupid

I’m seriously considering putting her in her own bedroom, I don’t know if I can make it til 6 months. I can’t see and feel dizzy from the tiredness. I want to go out and about with her but I’m scared to drive whilst being this tired

Any suggestions what I can do is much appreciated. When did you guys move baby into their own room? Did you wait til 6 months?

It is normal...their gut is still immature and they are working at digesting their night feeds. I started wearing earplugs with mine so it drowned out a lot of the grunting but I could still hear crying etc. It definitely helped.

Yes definitely - Just move her! Get a baby monitor so that you still wake up if she cries. Is her room nearby? I moved my DS at 4 months because it was a heatwave and his room was so much cooler. Probably would have done it earlier if necessary. You are barely even functioning, you need to prioritise your sleep.

Can you try white noise or ear plugs?

Definitely try all the possible options before moving her because of the SIDS risks. If she doesn't need picking up and it's about sleeping through the noise, I'd try other noise or ear plugs, ask the GP if it's OK to raise her bed, swaddling etc. Good luck!
