Moving up to cot/own room

Hi all,

My daughter has just turned 4 months old and is currently in a snuzpod next to our bed. She is a smaller baby and is 13lbs.

She is very mobile (has been rolling since 4 weeks) and prefers to sleep on her side/tummy. Lately she has gotten even worse and is now moving herself in the night to the top of her snuzpod and burying herself into the top corner.

Would it be better to put her in her own cot in her own room all night with monitor or should I just leave her next to me till she's 6 months? I feel if she has in the big cot at least their is plenty airflow and space that it will be safer if she sleeps on her side/front.

Any advice greatly appreciated Smile

It's unsafe to have baby sleeping in a seperate room to you until at least 6 months.

I would consider swapping for the cot though. You can take one side off most cots to make a sidecar cot. Then butt it up to your bed and keep it in your room.

Oh - and many babies are shuffling upwards to a corner of the cot at 4 months. It's not unusual and in itself not something to be concerned about.

If it were me I’d try to get the big cot into your room. I knew mine would never last 6 months in a bassinet so we rejigged the bedroom layout to space and they went in the big cot from day 1.

@Bec1710 completely agree with what what others are saying - it’s not safe to have baby sleeping anywhere but in the room with you until at least 6 months old.
Can you rearrange things to fit the cot in your room? If not can you get a bed into the baby’s room and sleep in there with her?

Hi thanks everyone I'll just keep her in the current co sleeper till she's 6 months (no way the big cot bed would fit in our room) and hopefully she will be fine.
