2 month old won't sleep in moses basket

DD is 9 weeks old and seems to only sleep on me at the moment (great in this hot weather...) If I try to move her to the moses basket she wakes herself within a couple of minutes and cannot get back to sleep without being picked up and rocked back to sleep on me again. I've tried the drowsy but awake thing but as soon as she is in the basket her eyes are wide open and theres no chance of her sleeping. She does seem to go down in the crib okish at night. She suffers from reflux so I have to have her upright for a while after each feed anyway. The only, very occasional times, she will sleep in the moses basket is if I put her down in a very deep sleep but even then it is not guaranteed she wont wake herself up shortly after. I dont mind holding her for a while but it would be nice to have some time to put her down so I cant get some things done for myself and around the house. I haven't tried the crib in the day as it is upstairs and I need her in the basket downstairs with me. any help or suggestions much appreciate please.

You have a velcro baby. The only way I managed was to co sleep, following all the safety advice (hair up, no smoking or drinking, no blankets or pillows, flat firm mattress, next to mum not dad)

None of mine ever slept in the Moses basket. It was solely a place to leave clean laundry for all 3 of my children… Smile

Try naps in something that moves - bouncy chair for example. Or pram pushed back and forth on the spot.

The idea is to put baby in there before going to sleep, then use the movement (alongside dummy) to get baby to fall asleep in there independently. It bypasses the need to put down a sleeping baby.

Mine was 6 months before I was able to phase out contact naps… sorry! Probably not what you want to hear.

My advice is to embrace it - make your surroundings as comfortable for you as possible, have a book or headphones so you can watch something on your phone, a fan to keep you cool etc.

I used a chair that swings gently for daytime naps was a lifesaver think Argos sell them
