Is the Happiest Baby SNOO smart sleeper cot worth the price tag?

I've seen this smart baby cot by Happiest Baby advertised by several nee mums on my Instagram feed and it's finally piqued my interest.
But the price tag is RIDICULOUS! Admittedly it does look chic but come on, over £1k for essentially a Moses basket???

Anyone had any experience with it before? Does it really improve baby's sleeping and is it worth the price tag?

It look great if your baby likes being swaddled.

DD had a gro snug sleeping bag from birth and hated her arms tucked in and always slept with her arms up by her head, so for us, a next2me co sleeper was the best thing

We have it and it's worth every penny tbh. It's often on offer at 30% off so if you do decide to get it, make sure you wait for that.

The built in white noise and rocking motion calm down my 8 week old instantly when we put him in, we had a Moses basket but he would cry as soon as we put him in it and cry until we took him out so it got abandoned pretty fast. He cries when we first put him in the Snoo but as soon as the white noise and rocking starts he calms down. It also soothes him back to sleep in the night without me having to get up and rock him for ages.

You can't put a price on a good nights sleep in my opinion 😂

He does start to resist the Snoo at around 6am when he's been in it all night so I always happily take him out for some cuddles from then 🥰

You're right, can't put a price on sleep . Honestly when I saw the price I thought the only thing that'll make me pay that would be a good night's rest 😂 In terms of sleep, I struggled with DC1 who is 4 now.

Now that DC2 is almost here I'm looking to try different solutions that'll help us sleep better this time around.

Baby isn't here yet so no idea if she'll love being swaddled but hopefully she does in case we go for it. Not sure if there's an option to leave their hands free.

My friend had a second hand one for her DS. It was fantastic while he could use it (thank it did him until roughly 6 months?) but she had big problems transitioning him out of it which lasted for a good few weeks. She ended up needing to sleep train at ~ 8 months, which she didn’t particularly want to do. She may well have needed to sleep train anyway though even without the disappearance of the snoo - who knows! X

My question would be same as PP - if they get used to being perfectly rocked with white noise to sleep is it impossible to get them to sleep elsewhere (pram when out and about) and/or is it a nightmare to transition them to a cot when 6 months? Any one with any experience?

lucymagoo · 22/07/2021 12:10

There is a weaning mode on the Snoo, it means it only rocks them if they wake up rather than when you first put them in. Will have to wait and see if that works for us as my little one is only 2 months old. We have had no issue with getting enough sleep though, I'm about as well rested as before I had him. Shock

@NaturalStudy my dd is 19 months and has always fallen asleep being cuddled and then put into next2me then her cot. And we always played white noise, and then changed to instrumental music when we were about to go crazy! We've never had any issues getting her to nap in the car seat or pram, and she will fall asleep in noisy places or out and about because she's always been used to background noise when sleeping.

I know not all babies are like this though

MsSquiz · 22/07/2021 13:52

@HauteGirlSummer that would be my worry on spending so much, to then find out baby hates to be swaddled or rocked, etc.

Might it be an idea to try them in a normal co sleeper or crib, and then if they are a swaddled/rocked baby, it would be worth the money for a good night's sleep.

Thanks for this information. Really good to know that they have the weaning mode.

My DD would have laughed in the face of it and clung to me all night anyway and I would have ended up giving the stupid expensive thing evil looks as it slowly filled with washing.

yikesanotherbooboo · 22/07/2021 14:23

How could a cot possibly be worth more than a thousand pounds?

I think they're banking on the desperation of sleep-deprived parents who'll pay anything to get a good nights' rest.

Tbf I haven't told DH I'm even considering such a pricey ass cot yet as he'll have a fit and call it a rip-off 🤣😂

Ooh imagine that. 1k on a laundry basket 😂🤣 I'd be livid. I think most people go on to sell theirs second hand and I would hope they get at least half the original price for it.
