What to do when sleeping 5 month old is wet?

Hi,

So I put my 5 month old down at 7:30 last night and he woke a few times as he does for feeds. I have just touched him now and he's soaked through his vest, but is absolutely soundo. Instead of me going back to sleep....I am wide awake worrying he's all wet. Should you ever wake a baby to change? I've googled and everyone says you should, but waking a sleeping baby is a no no right?

I would change him but very gently and try not to wake him up, but would absolutely not let him sleep wet.

I used to change the diaper every time they woke up for a feed unless it was completely dry.

Wet with sweat or urine?
Urine I would change even if sleeping, and give a wipe down to clean skin (bath in the morning)
Sweat I would leave until morning and then bath him.

What time does he normally wake up?
I'd probably just crack on and change him so he didn't get cold.

I would change him. Its not good for his delicate baby skin to be next to wet/damp.

Wet with urine 😞 I've managed to take his baby grow and nappy off. He's gone back to sleep and I need to put a nappy on 😱 He never sleeps this long! He's usually awake at 5:30/6.

Get nappy on and leave him sleep! Enjoy the peace!!!!

100% change him (hopefully he doesn't wake) and you can enjoy the silence for a while x

Just change him quietly while he sleeps. In future when he wakes for a feed in the night change him first.

Thank you everyone. I've taken nappies into our bedroom and will definitely change him when he wakes for a feed. Phew x
