Twins - 22 months and much night waking.

I'll start this by saying I've had 3 singletons, so know about baby and toddler sleep.

But, I'm hoping to get advice here about my twins, 22 months and never slept through the night.

They nap well, and I've tried to cut their nap or move its time to try to help their nighttime routine.

Both go down around 7:30pm/8pm. Wake around twice per night each, and can be up to 6 times each!!!

They are in the same bedroom, both still in cots.

With my singletons I wasn't against the idea of letting them cry it out at this age, but I've never done that as I am worried about one twin waking the other and also waking the whole house!

I've got into a bad habit of giving them 2oz of milk when they wake. I know this is silly, but it actually does help them get back over.... Sadly though it does not work for long before they wake again.

I need advice or solidarity, as I'm feeling myself get frayed temper during the days (SAHM) as I'm exhausted.

I'm afraid it just needs you to stop pandering. Don't give the milk (or give water instead) and be strict with them. Can you get through to summer holidays? Then see if you can sweet talk grandparents in having the bigger three for a few days and sleep train.

Well you inow why they are waking, they get a nice visit from Mummy and a drink of milk. You know you need to break the habit, it will involve some tears, make a plan get some help from DH and gut it out

You are both right. I need to bite the bullet and do it, but it's a total headache when they both wake up at same time, and part of me is so stressed about that happening. Happens some nights no matter what I do.

SadSad

It's 10:15pm and twin 1 has already been up twice. Twin 2 will likely start from around 1am Envy

I’m sorry OP. I’ve just finished bf-ing my 22month twins and they now sleep through the night (where previously they were up individually and together 3-4 times a night).

On the bright side the transition from feeding to non-feeding was only one sad night.
So that’s a little hope?

Fingers crossed for you.
