13 week old waking every hour

Hi everyone,

Would love some advice. My baby is 13 weeks old but was born 7 weeks early so is 7 weeks corrected. He used to sleep okish in his Moses basket but he is now too big so we have to move him to our side cot, which we did on Monday. He has woken every hour overnight since then unless we bring him into our bed.

I expressed until 11 weeks but he’s now on formula. He seems to be very hungry the last few days so I don’t know if it’s linked? He’s still feeding every 3 hours during the day - if I give him a bigger amount to try stretch it he just vomits 😬 Usually wakes at least once for a feed overnight

He doesn’t have a strict schedule in the evening as his naps can vary. I’m trying to look out for his tired queues and put him down for a nap but this doesn’t always work. Is this where I’ve gone wrong? I tried to put him to bed at 8pm a few times but he never settles. He naps well during the day - usually 3 naps from 45 mins - 1.5 hours.

He only started smiling properly a week ago so I know he isn’t quite at 13 weeks developmentally yet. We are wrecked and would appreciate any advice!

Rather than giving bigger amounts in the bottle for daytime feeds, reduce the gap between feeds so that you are giving more bottles per day. It's not unreasonable for baby to have a full feed every 2h during the daytime. This then calorie loads through the day so baby isn't so hungry at night.

Sorry I know it's really hard, my daughter woke pretty much every hour for months. I just wanted to say it is actually normal and it will pass eventually. My daughter just wanted to be closer to me, please try not to feel like something is wrong, just go with it if you can. My tips are to not look at the clock so you don't know how many times they have woken up (better to be blissfully unaware haha). Try to drink lots of water and get fresh air so you feel better and try to nap when they nap. You will survive and it will all be over before you know it :).
