Napping twins...am I wrong to do this?

I’ve got almost 20 week old twins.

For the last few weeks I’ve been attempting to follow the Little Ones sleep routine (9am-10am and 12-2pm roughly).

It’s not really went to plan.

Today instead of waking the em at 10 (it took 25 min to get them to sleep), I’m just going to let them sleep as long as they like and see if we can find a natural routine to their naps.

Would you do the same? I figure as long as they both sleep at the same time, it doesn’t matter when they nap?

Or will this majorly impact night sleep?

Appreciate thoughts from those in the know!

Another twin mum here - we didn't really try to get a routine going until they were about 6 months (although they were premature) but then had a routine similar to FATEs - roughly 1/1.5hrs at around 9 or 9.30 (they were always awake for 6.30am) then 2 hours at about 1.30pm.

I would always wake them when they'd had their time (1.5hrs / 2 hours) - completely agree that you need them to be in the same routine. Good luck!

Can I just say thanks, especially to the twin Mums for taking the time to share.

I tend to think I’m a fairly competent and confident parent; but occasionally you need that group confirmation on your decisions and this thread has given me that!

My twins in theory have one nap together in the middle of the day but today one was awake at 5.30 and wouldn't go back to sleep. So he'll nap earlier. What else do you do? You can't wake the other twin at 5.30 or expect the early riser to last until the other ones nap. So they'll hopefully overlap so I get an hour alone with DS and they'll be put down to bed together tonightm. It's v rare one goes up early (off occasion of falling asleep in dinner) and unusual one is up later (due to screaming in cot and keeping other one awake)
