Baby waking up later

My baby has been sleeping later, not waking up till 8am for the past week. Of course I'm not complaining as such! She's been waking up in the night for over an hour so I don't know if that's impacted, but having said that, when she had her 8 month sleep regression and was up all night she still woke up at 7am.

The knock on effect means two naps at 11 and 3. Does this sound too late? She's 10.5 months, formula fed.

With an 8am wake up, morning nap wants to start at 10am.

The generally accepted timings for 2-nap days are 234:

  • 2h awake between morning to first nap
  • 3h awake between first nap to second nap
  • 4h awake between second nap to bedtime

Thanks. Yes I know about 2-3-4 and we tried that for a while but she needed a longer wake window for the mornings as she wasn't tired after 2 hours. So now it seems to work out as 3/3/3.5 or 4.
But the later wake up changes things.

If getting up an hour later has created the issue, would there be a problem with putting to bed an hour later? So shift the whole routine forward by an hour.

If the 3 o clock nap doesn't impact on night time sleep then go with it. I didn't have set nap times for either of my children, I just knew the latest they could nap in the day (for whatever stage they're at) and tried to keep them awake after that time.
