Baby turns over and needs turning back

Hello,

So we are very lucky un that our little girl, just about to turn 6 months, has slept through the night/ put herself back to sleep without aid since she was three months old. However, this last week, she's been waking up at like 4.30 and she turns on her stomach, 'coz you know, it's so much fun and all Grinbut then she's stuck and can't put herself back to sleep because she can't sleep ok her tummy. I kept turning her back onto her back for half an hour this morning, then gave up and put her on the breast, but she was wide awake by then lol so we've come downstairs Smile

How long before she can fully complete the turn? As in go from back to stomach? Also, she's not crying when stuck on her tummy but she's grunting uncomfortably, so I can't leave her on her stomach yet until she can fully turn herself over, correct?

Very boring thread but, hey, she's thrown something new into the mix so thought I'd ask!

Thank you!

If she’s not crying or upset on her tummy I’d leave her, she’ll probably go back to sleep.

Roll up a muslin cloth and put it next to her so she can't roll over all the way.

How long til she can roll back the other way? Depends on her! All the googling I did said it would be a few days, but my son took over a month to be able to roll from front to back after he could roll from back to front.

Try and encourage her with tummy time in the daytime - that's the most you can do to speed things along

Love the muslin cloth idea! Thanks, everybody Smileyeah she's been able to get onto her tummy for about a week properly and not showing signs of being able to get herself back over yet lol but hey ho, will try the cloth and will start doing lots of tummy time whenever possible! Thanks again, guys!

Remember these nights well 😅
Plenty time on the floor, toys, noises to encourage rolling back over.
Please don’t leave her until she can roll both ways as it’s dangerous.

Pinkcookie - i won't! I'm far too scared to do so, and would much rather happily wake up at 4.30 than take any risks! Smilethank you!
