Hi, I just want to know when would be the perfect time to move my daughter into a bed as she is still in her cot, she is a dot and she can't climb out of it, so do I stick with her being in her cor until she can climb out of it or is there a specific time to move her? X

My daughter is 2yrs 7mths and she's still in her cot. Like yours she's quite petite and hasn't ever attempted to climb out. I plan to keep her in it until she's potty/toilet trained. I'm guessing that when she's out of nappies she may need to use the potty/toilet during the night and the cot would hinder her.

My son was in his cot til over three, he just didn’t seem to figure out her could probably climb out. Moved him into a low bunk bed at maybe 3.5 as we needed the cot for the new baby!
He still doesn’t figure that he can get out of the bunk bed either!

We moved ds as 2½ as he had potty trained and it was easier for him to get up for the toilet

Ours was in a cot for well over three, she didn’t climb out of it and we had building work going on so was safest. Whenever you feel he will be ready is fine, there’s no rush on these things.

I had planned on moving DC1 to a bed from his standard sized, not cot bed sized, cot before DC2 came along when he was 2yrs 5mths but he slept in it so well and he ended up in there until a good few months after 3 when he needed more room, so we ended up having to buy another cot for DC2!

With a new born baby, I was happy to wait as long as possible before having to go through the pain in the arse swap transition from contained cot to the freedom of a bed!
