Nearly 6 month old waking every hour and a half. Help!

My baby is 6 months next week. She still wakes about every hour and a half at night and wants feeding. She obviously doesn't need this and I'm keen to not get up every hour and a half to feed her. She never feeds to sleep in the day or when she first settles at night, but does when she wakes.

This is my fault as, when she was in the next to me crib and woke up, I'd just lean over to pick her up, feed her and put her back. Sometimes we would co sleep if it was hard to get her to go back.

Now she is in a cot in her own room (since last week) and, once fed, will go down quite easy, but is still waking up every hour and a half on average to be fed. Any advice on how to reduce this?

It's been a long time since I've had a six month old, however I would say don't feed her if you know she's been well fed give her a quick cuddle snuggle her down and leave the room. She may be unsettled for a while but eventually she will settle herself to sleep. Keep everything minimum not lights or noise don't interact too much just a gentle cuddle or stroke of her head to make her feel secure then step away. It may take a few weeks to reassure her but stick with it xx

I would bring the big cot next to your bed, this maximises everyone's sleep since you can respond much more easily and swiftly. (Move furnature out of your room if lack of space is the issue).

Then go about night weaning - so settle baby in the cot in the night, but without feeding.

Bringing the cot in to us is definitely something we will try. I do try and settle without feeding at night but it's very difficult, she just screams. I guess I just need to keep doing it.

Yes I think we just need to be more persistent. Thank you
