6 month old would be sleeping through but nappies don't last - any recommendations for nappies?

LO is 6 months old and in size 3 nappies - just sized up and cant do again (she's only 9th percentile) and it seems like the extra absorbent ones only start at size 4!
Anyone got any recommendations? She slept 7-4am last night but was woken because she'd soaked through her sleeping bag and all over the bassinet sheet so it was a full change at 4 am!

Try pull ups?

Cloth nappies. If you can get them try 'motherease duo' on the nappy lady website.

We have a 2nd percentile baby and had to move up sizes for absorbency. We were in size 4 at 5.5 months although no where near the quoted weight.

We use pampers over night and get 7-7 from those with no night feeds. We use tesco for the day althoby accident found a tesco 4+ did 7-7 the other night.

I have heard people rate lidl nappies for everything apart from size 3. Don't know which you use but could it be that.

DD, 4 months, is on the 2nd percentile. Every time we've moved up nappies (we've gone from 0 to 3 so far) it's been for more absorbency rather than because they don't fit. I'd get some size 4 ones and see whether they do in fact fit well enough. After all, if they don't, you can just keep them for when they do so you haven't lost anything.

My 4.5m DS is in Lidl size 3 and we do like them but it took a few goes to ensure we didn't leak from the back- must wear very tightly and ensure no slack at the back.

I'm trying to get him to feed more in the day to reduce the big bedtime and wee hours feed to relieve stress on the nap nappy. We can make it 8pm-5:30am.

Good luck OP!

Tbh I was still changing my DS in the night at 6m. If she’s sleeping so well can you not do a nappy change when you go to bed?

Pancakepipsqueak · 26/03/2021 09:41

Thanks for the advice other mothers of small babies!! I shall try moving up again then.
@cupofdecaf I use clothe (baba&boo) during the day and I don’t think I’d trust them over night? When we moved up to size 3 we used a cloth over the top to ensure the nappy stayed on though which worked ok?
@DinoHat I don’t go to bed that much later than her if I’m honest - usually 8.30 ish so I don’t think that would make a difference (LO goes back to sleep after her 4 am wake ups but I never do!!)

@chickensoup23 I haven’t seen size 3 pull ups!!
@PickleKid I might try moving the last feed to before her nappy change and see if that helps! She’s an ok eater during the day but I can’t generally get more than 6oz bottles into her (maybe 7oz if it’s first feed!)

Rascal & friends nappies sold by Tesco. GET THESE! These are soooo good. I used pampers and they leaked, and I was recommended these ones as they are amazing. They last all night long and are high up so no explosive poo leaks either

The motherease duos have 2 different kinds of insert (it's a 2 parter) depending on if you're using them at night time or day time. They still work on our 2 year old. At about 1 year old we started boosting them but now we're trying to night train we've stopped boosting but very few leaks.
CloudFormations · 26/03/2021 10:11

I find cloth more absorbent tbh. My 4 month old sleeps from 8pm to 6am without waking and he never soaks through. We use Terry cloths and motherease airflow wraps and haven’t had him soak through in them.

MotherOfDragon20 · 26/03/2021 11:25

Another vote for rascal and friends from tesco! So so absorbent.
